about

A superb follow-up to Worlds, Afterworlds [relaxed Machinery, 2012], "369" by Zero Ohms features flutes, bass flutes and wind-controlled synthesizers over a unique collection of field recordings. Consisting of three tracks, appropriately titled "3", "6", and "9", they take the listener through a journey of what seems to be unending ascension. Shifting drones of slowed flutes and looped bass flutes drift like clouds in an unknown sky over a trek through an immense landscape in the first and second tracks. Only the birdsongs seem familiar. What might be voices speaking some unrecognized tongue are heard momentarily in passing. The third track's sublime otherworldliness evaporates the listener, upwards into that unknown sky, with wind-synth chords to fly with those clouds, to the very edge of space and then beyond.

“If you only knew the magnificence of the 3, 6 and 9, then you would have a key to the universe.”
-N. Tesla
